Keenan Allen signed a deal when he was an oft-injured player but after years of being underpaid, he becomes the second-highest paid receiver in the league!
Keenan Allen, basically the Chargers only relevant receiver at this moment in time, has signed a new four-year extension worth $80 million for an annual average of $20 million. He might be one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL and in 2016 he signed a four-year deal worth just $45 million mainly because of injuries. Since then, he hasn’t missed a single game averaging 101 catches, 1260 yards and six TDs per season. The Chargers were getting unbelievable value out of Allen and he is being rightly compensated for being Philip Rivers favourite target. He will be instrumental in getting the best out of Tyrod Taylor and eventually turning Justin Herbert into a household name. At just 28 years old, he’s a safe bet to still be dominant throughout the length of this deal and he’s a much better value than Amari Cooper at the same price.
This was one of four huge deals that dropped late on Saturday night and we’ve got them all covered here!
