Week 1 is finally here!!! Well, it technically started the other night when the Buccs toppled the Cowboys in one of the best curtain raisers I can remember in quite some time, but now it’s properly here. I am going to spend all day waiting for Scott Hanson’s beautiful face to tell me that “7 hours of commercial-free football starts NOW!”, only to nod off on the sofa 2-3 hours into the Redzone coverage.

The first week of games is always a bit of a crapshoot when it comes to betting, so I’ve really just gone with my instincts for now. Win or lose I just cant wait to see football back with full crowds, it’s going to be awesome.

Jacksonville Jaguars – 3.5 @ 2.00

No brainer for me here. As a few of the other writers have said, the Texans are going to suck this season. The heart and soul has been ripped out of this football team and it could be a while until we see them with a winning record again. I don’t think the Jaguars are going to set the world alight but they will have enough to put this lot to the sword and cover the spread. £10 stake.

Las Vegas Raiders +4.0 @ 1.91

Now I’m not saying the Raiders are going to win, nor am I even suggesting that they will have a similar record to the Ravens this year.. but I am saying this is Monday Night Football. This game is not only on Prime Time but it will be the first time we see this fancy new stadium full and overflowing with passionate Raiders fans. I think this game will come down to a field goal. £10 stake.

D.Henry (TEN), C.McCaffrey (CAR) & D.Cook (MIN) All to Score a Touchdown @ 4.50

Anyone who followed along last year knows I’m a sucker for the Sky Bet price boosts. These bets are always fun and this one looks like the best for what’s on offer. £20 stake will return £90 should these three all find the endzone in the early kickoff games.
