After the first week of fixtures, we seen some teams come out fighting in this weird season and others that just didn’t look ready so our first week of power rankings has some decent shifts.

So let’s get into it!

1. London Warriors (No Change)

No game for the Warriors this week but they must have liked what they saw from the other game in their Division.

2. Manchester Titans (Up 1)

Well hello Manchester Titans, a team that really showed up in Week One of the season and put up EIGHTY-THREE unanswered points on the Lancashire Wolverines. Now I know what people will say ‘Lancashire aren’t a Premiership team’ but they are a good level Division 1 team normally and other Premiership teams didn’t look anywhere near this good. We know the starters were being rotated very early the running clock was on for a time so this is impressive.

3. London Blitz (Down 1)

Is this the end of the London Blitz being the Warriors biggest rivals in Britball? They have struggled to find a replacement at quarterback since Fred Boyle left and struggled to put up points at the weekend. It could be because the Exiles have kicked it up a notch or the short preparation time for this season but we may find out as the season progresses.

4. London Olympians (Up 1)

Another team that didn’t play this week but due to the show Tamworth put on jump up a spot.

5. Kent Exiles (Up 2)

The Exiles have recruited well this offseason but after taking some heavy losses to the Blitz in 2019 they seem to have really closed the gap. It looked like they were set to topple the Blitz but they just couldn’t hold on in the 4th quarter.

6. Tamworth Phoenix (Down 2)

Tamworth drop down 2 spots, even though they won, purely by what we watched happen in their game. Watching the game they just didn’t look as impressive as normal and we can’t tell if it was due to Leicester playing extremely well or them just not executing. They struggled to run the ball and the quarterback missed almost all of his passes. On the upside the defence was still up to task against a talented Leicester quarterback.

7. Solent Thrashers (Up 1)

It’s clear Solent was prepared for life in the premiership in 2020. Even though they aren’t playing any premiership team they played one of the top Division 1 teams in the country and posted a 34-0 shutout. One of the biggest squads in Britball looks like it won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

8. Bristol Aztecs (Down 2)

It seems harsh to drop Bristol down a couple of spots even though they didn’t play and their B team (The Apache) hung a 50 burger on the Torbay Trojans. Performances from Kent and Solent deserve to be rewarded for this week and the Aztecs will have a chance to move back up the rankings when they kick off their campaign.

9. Leicester Falcons (New Entry)

Leicester enter this year’s power rankings after almost toppling the 2019 Britbowl finalists. Leicester didn’t look outmatched in any phase of the game and their quarterback looks like a proper baller. It will be interesting to see what happens when they play a Sandwell team that looked to struggle putting up points against the Surge.

10. Sheffield Giants (Down 1)

Sheffield drop one place due to the calibre of competition they faced. They did exactly what they should by the looks of it and rack up 43 unanswered points at the half. The only concern has to be that assuming they pulled all their starters in the 2nd half, they should still be able to put up points on Knottingley. Depth of squad is huge for playing premiership ball in 2022.

Dropped Out – Merseyside Nighthawks

The Merseyside Nighthawks drop out of the power rankings this week after not having a game. They have every chance of flying straight up the list when they start playing over the coming weeks.
