Former Bournemouth University Bobcats and current Solent Thrashers star Running Back J Alex Geas has secured a move to one of the premier football organisations in Europe – the Swarco Raiders.

Thrashers Head Coach Steve Rains has maintained ties with the Innsbruck based Raiders since his PA Knights played them in the EFAF Cup in consecutive years in 2003 and 2004.

Coach Rains said “ Whilst we are sorry to lose Titi from the Thrashers it was inevitable once he decided he wanted to take the step into European Football. I contacted Raiders HC Kevin Herron and recommended him for a trial – if we were going to lose him I wanted him to go to the best organisation – if you have ever been to the Raiders facility or a game then you know they take some beating.

I flew over to Innsbruck with Titi for their Fall Camp and, as I expected, he made a great impression. I believe he is going to initially join the Raiders Austrian League team which is coached by a former great player, Florian Grein, who helped to beat me twice!

This transfer shows the huge progression the Thrashers have made since we started the current project back in 2017 – Adam Bowley who is our Running Backs player/coach has done a great job with Titi and our group of backs and we are developing other star players across the board with the help of our fantastic coaching staff

We now have two former Thrashers playing in Europe with Jason Oluwa at Berlin Adler and now Titi at Swarco

Its unfortunate that Titi missed his GB Lions chance because the Raiders Camp invitation was the same weekend as the trials, but GB have his tape – being a dual French/British National of course he may get an offer to try out for France

J Alex said “My time at the Thrashers is what has made me the player I am today! I will be forever grateful to my Coach Steve Rains who has helped me gather momentum even through the lows of a pandemic and helped me get to the point I’m at today. I’m forever grateful to Adam Bowley, who has trained me from my days at university up until now, I look up to him as a coach and player! And finally to all my teammates on and off the field who have helped me achieve this dream! Thank you
